Be picked up in Ponta Delgada and head towards Vila Franca do Campo on the south coast of the island to start your adventure around the south side of the island. After exploring Vila Franca do Campo, you’ll head to Lagoa das Furnas. In Lagoa das Furnas, you’ll stop in a local restaurant to try the famous Furnas stew. Furnas stew is a meat stew that is cooked underground. After lunch, you’ll visit the centenary garden Parque Terra Nostra. After visiting Parque Terra Nostra, you’ll get the opportunity to visit Caldeiras das Furnas. The volcanic hot spring pools at Caldeiras das Furnas are unique to the island. Stop at the Pico do Ferro viewing point and take in the views of the island. Before the tour comes to an end, you’ll visit the local tea factory, Gorrena, and stop at the Santa Iria viewing point.
