Top of the Rock: So much more than the views

One World Trade Center might offer New York's highest observation deck, but the city's most beloved views can be seen from the Rockefeller Center and Empire State Building. Both offer their own Art Deco charm, but here's what else Top of the Rock's got!

  • A three-story deck

    1. A three-story deck

The Top of the Rock observation deck spans three stories, with each adding its own unique touches to the views over Central Park and the Empire State Building!

  • Installations

    2. Installations

In line with J.D. Rockefeller Jr.'s patronage of the arts, the views aren't all there is to see at the top! Currently featured is the dazzling "Radiance Wall" created by Swarovski.

  • The way up

    3. The way up

The doors close and the lights go dim. Suddenly the top clears to reveal the inner workings of the dramatically lit elevator shaft as you hurtle upwards! The way down's great too!

  • Colors

    4. Colors

Visiting with kids? Be sure to check out Top of the Rock's Breezeway attraction. They'll have great fun changing the colors of the room with their every move!

  • One of Manhattan's liveliest locations

We enjoyed everything about this activity. Easy to get into the venue. Easy screening, even with COVID protocols we were right on time. Great views, friendly staff and a clean venue topped it all off. I highly recommend this as an easy way to get great views and pictures of the city.

I've been to ESB and just visited Top of the Rock. Both are spectacular! My recommendation, do it at night. The lit up city looks amazing. It's like standing above the stars.

3 levels to explore. There are interior portions for those with fears of height. Restrooms and gift shop at the top.

If you arrive at 11:00, the place is empty and the view is awesome, perfect for photos and without losing time.
