Relatively, this eruption is small-sized and has taken place on Reykjanes Peninsula. Its geographical location can be traced in Geldingadalir Valley some 20 miles away from Reykjavik. Before this eruption, the Reykjanes peninsula witnessed such eruptions in the 14th century AD. More Interestingly, some 50000 earthquake jolts have taken place following this eruption. It is a catastrophic scenario in the area. The experts of seismology maintain that this volcanic eruption is no less than a surprise. The reason is that meanwhile, the volcano eruption takes place, there was no seismic activity. Without such seismic activity, the eruption seems unlikely. However, the volcano erupted at this site, proving it to be a surprise for the seismic studies. What people are saying about Geldingadalir Valley

Great hike, was tough at times but really worth it, the view at the top near the lava field is amazing! There is still heat coming off the lava field from the 2021 eruption. I have seen some negative comments about this tour, people saying they were expecting to see flowing lava. Please read the description carefully. I was impressed by our guide, he was great to talk to.

We all enjoyed the blue lagoon our skin has been soft ever since the visit. We were able to see the destruction the lava caused on the last eruption and it was a awesome sight we were told the lava rising again so could be another eruption in the next month

Excellent hike, I found it great and I really recommend it, the guide was very friendly as well as the driver, both very kind and helpful. Of our best memories in Iceland☀️

The flight was all we had hoped for and more. What an experience! Our pilot was so skillful and friendly. A trip to be repeated.
