  • Giza Pyramids and Sphinx: Half-Day Private Tour

    1. Giza Pyramids and Sphinx: Half-Day Private Tour

Meet your tour-guide in your hotel lobby and depart in a private, air-conditioned vehicle to the Giza Plateau. The tour begins by exploring the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. You will visit the Pyramid of Cheops (The Great Pyramid of Giza), the largest pyramid in the world. Continue your tour with visits to the Pyramids of Chephren and Mykerinos. Learn the architectural significance and fascinating history of these magnificent structures. While on the Giza Plateau, you will see The Great Sphinx of Giza and learn about the mystery of one of the oldest and largest sculptures in the world.

My tour guide was Mohamed Hamed with Mekawy as driver. The trip exceeded expectations. Mohamed is very professional: he speaks perfect English and has in-depth knowledge in Egyptology. But what was even more important for me as a solo traveler, Mohamed was also a great companion. In addition to showing all the highlights and giving background knowledge we also had phylosophical discussions related to Egypt. Since he know that I am open to experience the local people and culture, I was invited to have a tea + snacks with his friends who work at the pyramid complex. Overall, instead of being another tourist who came to take pictures of the pyramids it was more like having a trip with a local friend and spending good time. I am not sure about the other guides at this company but with Mohamed a great trip is guaranteed.

This was one of the best guided tours I’ve ever been on, in large part because we had an excellent tour guide named Nesma. We enjoyed the tour so much that we booked another one for the next day at Memphis, Saqqara, and Dashur with the same tour guide. We were picked up at our hotel by a car with a dedicated driver, in addition to the tour guide (no other visitors—just my group of 2). We then went straight to the Giza pyramids (including Sphinx) to beat the crowds/heat. Our tour guide took amazing photos and made recommendations about how to best use our time. We were then taken to a papyrus art house for a presentation and opportunity to buy the art. Next we went to lunch at a local restaurant, which was very good—chicken and lamb. The food was included, and although the drinks were not included, they were very cheap. Next, we went to the Egyptian Museum where our tour guide showed us all the most important artifacts and knew a lot of history. Then went to the bazaar.

Ahmed was the perfect host during our dinner on the Nile cruise ! He picked us up early because we asked if we could possibly stop somewhere before dinner. He was able to take us to that place then still made it on time for the dinner. He was so kind and gracious. He waited with us while we ate our dinner, helped us take pictures and just made sure we had an overall good time. This was the best experience ever !

Received email confirmation and pick up time the evening before. The agent was waiting in reception at allotted time with our flight boarding passes (outward and return) and then we had transfer in private car to airport. Here security was very strict and extremely slow...2 complete security checks before boarding gate. Allow at least 1-1.5 hours extra time for this. There are no facilities other than toilets. Very short flight with drinks and biscuits. Met at other end in Cairo by tour guide who was easily identifiable. Group consisted of 7 adults. Had our own air con mini bus all day so could leave stuff in bus. Our guide Tharwat spoke good English and was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. We agreed to go to Egyptian Museum instead of Sakkara and were glad we did. Tharwat included this in our original price. The included lunch was in a lovely restaurant overlooking the pyramids. As well as Giza plateau Tharwat took us to visit 2 Businesses (papyrus and oils) and a mall

Our guide Mohamed Hamed was knowledgeable and excellent. We explained to him that this was not our first visit to the pyramids, having been here 20 years ago, we wanted an overview and take some photos. He respected our request and whilst he gave us a brief history, added to the experience by relating anecdotes about the area, it's people and other details that one would only learn from a local. It's a short tour of the pyramids and syphnx, good for anyone who has limited time and wants a good overview.

Ayman Gabry was a very knowledgeable and respectful tour guide. He offered assistance with bargaining and provided wonderful insight about the countries culture. Waleed was also very kind with excellent driving skills. We felt safe in their care.

THE PYRAMID TOUR WAS A VERY BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE! OUR GUIDE WAS EXTREMELY KIND AND EXPLAINED EVERYTHING LIKE THE BOOK.

Mohamed hamed is the best guide we’ve ever met, great experience!) Thanks!)
