Full description

Embark on a guided tour to Loch Lomond National Park, Rannoch Moor, Glencoe, the Great Glen, Loch Ness, and Pitlochry from Glasgow. Learn the history behind each turn from your guide.

Depart Glasgow and travel north towards the Highlands along the “bonnie, bonnie” banks of Loch Lomond. Crossing the ancient natural fault line that runs across Scotland you travel into the majestic Highlands where the scenery changes quickly and dramatically – the flat fertile plains of the Lowlands give way to shimmering lochs, rugged mountain tops and forest-filled glens. Traveling north through Breadalbane, meaning the 'High Country of Scotland,' you climb towards the wild desolation of Rannoch Moor and down into Scotland's most famous valley, Glencoe. Glencoe is infamous as the site of the Glencoe massacre in 1692. Beyond Glencoe you will enter the Great Glen, a deep glacial valley that follows a geological fault line. Passing through the town of Fort William you drive under Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, before arriving at Fort Augustus on the southern shore of Loch Ness. Keep an eye out for legendary sightings of the Loch Ness Monster, Nessie. Take in views of the charming town of Fort Augustus and the Caledonian Canal which links the lochs of the Great Glen.

Spend some time here where you can purchase a nice lunch before traveling north up the full length of the loch. Have the opportunity to see the ancient stronghold of Urquhart Castle while taking a 5-Star Jacobite boat cruise on the loch. Continue north through Inverness before traveling south in the stunning the mountains of Cairngorms National Park. Drive over the Drumochter Pass, at 1500 feet above sea level and past the 13th century Blair Castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Atholl.

Finally, stretch your legs at the Highland resort town of Pitlochry which is built for Victorian tourism and nestled amongst the mountains of Highland Perthshire. Return to your starting point in Glasgow at the end of your tour.

Cameron was a an added bonus to this amazing tour. He went above and beyond his call of duties to help my Dad with mobility issues, and made him feel so special and helped him at every stop so he can have the same experience as everyone else. Cameron is smart, funny, and very well informed about the Scottish history, culture, and has a great sense of humor. He kept us entertained throughout with his witty humor, amazing stories from his days as a ranger, and from shared experiences of other tourists.

The trip was lovely, breathtaking scenery and Bobby our driver was a wealth of knowledge. Minibus very comfortable. On the downside, picture of Urquart castle misleading because we were told on the morning of departure that the optional cruise would go nowhere near it. Also, itinerary included Pitlochry which we didn't visit despite arriving at 7 pm in Glasgow instead of 8. Maybe we could have spent a little more time in Inverness to compensate. Despite these 2 hitches it was a very enjoyable trip.

(my English is not native, so forgive my errors). I wasn't shure about this trip at first, but when reading so many positive reviews and my own interest in visiting the Highlands with my 2 kids (11 and 14 years old) we have done this trip on 28sth of july 2022. Our tourguide was Jeff (from Glasgow) and it was truely marvelous! I can hightly recommend this trip if you want to see more and the true beauty of Scotland. I would make a special thanks to Jeff, a marvelous bloke who made the trip not only visible a joy, but also with his tippically british humor and the many, many nice historic story's and even more facts it was a delight! Even the music was synced with the trip and fitted perfectly the many story's. One little remark: it was not clear at first where we should get on the bus. We met some other travelers who were also struggling to find the right bus (at a busstation there is a lot going on with many busses). A bit clearer discription would help.
