Full description
On this tour you will experience the shimmering lochs, scenic mountain views, and romantic and historic castles of the western highlands. From Glasgow we will cross the Firth of Clyde, passing Dumbarton's famous and imposing rock fortress. Our first stop is the pretty conservation village of Luss, on the 'Bonny, Bonny Banks' of Loch Lomond. Here you can walk along the shore or stay to admire the village. We then pass several dramatic castles and lochs as we climb into the Highlands. We will stop for lunch at the fishing town of Oban. We then journey on a southern route that takes us past the spectacular Kilchurn Castle, majestically situated on Loch Awe. Our final stop is Inveraray, historic seat of the Duke of Argyll, where you can choose to either visit Inveraray Castle* (April-October only) or explore the town’s Georgian houses and wide streets. We return to Glasgow via the Rest and Be Thankful pass. *This tour visits Inveraray Castle from April - October and to Dunstaffnage Castle from November to March.

Andy was knowledgeable and funny, we loved him! Overall we enjoyed the trip, enough toilet breaks and time to see villages, day was sunny and warm. The only down point was that most castles we saw were quite far away, so to make pics we had to zoom our cameras. If you're short sighted bring your glasses

The tour is very good, the places are fantastic. It could improve the information about the meeting point at the beginning of the tour. I arrived at the address marked and there was no office or tourist agency there... the indicated place was only for meeting on the sidewalk and this was not notified. I spent about 15 minutes looking in a cold -2•c and then find the driver of the van who was responsible for the tour. I requested a tour for information in Portuguese and the only thing I received was a paper with a shallow text about the places we would visit. The guide told what to do during the journeys but did not accompany the group, that is, as he only spoke English with a strong Scottish accent, I understood little of what could be explored in the region.

It was really a wonderful day out. We were a very small group so everything was very calm and relaxed. During the journey, the bus driver told us everything worth knowing and there was also suitable music. The breaks were well chosen and there was always enough time. It was a great way to get to know the Highlands! Really amazing! Thank you!
