Discover multiple Lord of the Rings locations as your guides whisk you away for a day long Middle Earth experience and take you on a journey you will never forget. You will be picked up at 10 AM outside the Station Information Centre. From there, you will travel alongside Lake Wakatipu to your first stop of the morning Ithilien you will explore where Frodo and Sam see the Oliphants.  From Ithilien you will continue along Lake Wakatipu where the Water Horse was filmed stopping along the way for breathtaking views of the lake and Mount Aspiring National Park. Once arriving in Glenorchy you will head for some lunch in the Glenorchy restaurant (lunch is included in tour price) with views of Mount Earnslaw. After lunch you travel out towards Paradise where you will step onto the filming site of Beorn's House as seen in the Hobbit film. (This is on private property and we have exclusive access onto this wonderful site. Please note all film sets were taken down after filming) You will see Isengard home to Orthanc tower, Gandalf rides to Isengard, Fangorn Forest, ZirikZigal (where Gandalf kills the Balrog) And also scenes from Wolverine and Narnia. Then its time to handle and photograph replica weapons from the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. From there it is your time to leave Middle Earth and return to Queenstown.

Start with pickup from your hotel in Queenstown and travel west along Lake Wakatipu to Glenorchy and Paradise. Discover a wide variety of filming locations throughout the tour with your expert guide. Bring the films to life with a variety of movie props you can use to recreate movie scenes at the filming locations.
