When you book a guide, you hope to get a local. Somebody enthusiastic about the city. In stead, I got a guy from Egypt who doesn’t even live in Goteborg. He was friendly enough, but his knowledge was really lacking. I asked him about some pretty buildings and he just guessed. (The university was a hospital according to him). The factories on the other bank? They were probably Volvo, or Ikea. And Volvo is run by the state, he was 100% sure of this. He told me he studied the history of the city rvery day, but when I asked what life was like in Gotenborg during the great war? He had no idea who was fighting who and which side Sweden was even on.. I learned a few things about Egypt, because that’s the one thing he would get enthousiastic about. He wanted me to go there next. But that’s not why you take a tour. I thought about giving it two stars, one extra because he was trying to be friendly. But it really sucked.
