Full description

Experience the Alhambra, the most important and captivating monument in Muslim Spain and one of the most-visited attractions in Spain. The Alhambra shows the heritage of the Nasrid dynasty, which you can discover as you explore the Alcazaba, the Comares Palace, and the Generalife gardens. Take the opportunity to visit the Alhambra accompanied by an official private guide who will explain the secrets, stories, and artistic details of the complex. Meet your guide at the Alhambra to begin this walking tour. The tour will start by visiting the walled citadel, the first vestiges before it became the seat of the Nasrid emirs of Granada. Continue until reaching the Alcazaba, the oldest area of the Alhambra and military area. Discover the impressive Torres Bermejas and take a photo at the top of the Torre de la Vela, where you can capture the best views of the Albaicín neighborhood. Visit the heart of the Alhambra, the Nasrid Palaces. Moorish-style patios, and the royal quarter. Your guide will reveal all the history and legends of how opulent palaces were built for Islamic rulers. To end the visit, enjoy the Generalife Gardens, the resting place of the kings of the city. A busy but excellent tour that gives you lots of information about such a wonderful site. It was great to have someone show you small details that may have missed on a self-guided tour. It was great to hear from someone who is so passionate about the area as Edu our guide was. He was so interesting to listen to that you really didn't notice how far you had walked and up how many steps! Great taste of the Alhambra with details you would not pick up on just an audio tour - a must! And if you get Edu as your guide you are in for a treat.

Alhambra was beautiful, it was one of the highlights of our trip. We walked from our hotel in town, up to Albaicin and hiked up to Alhambra. The climb from Albaicin up to Alhambra though nice, is tiring. I would suggest a taxi ride up to the Alhambra entrance to save some energy before the 3h tour. Alhambra is filled with history and definitely worth visiting. Our guide Edu was entertaining and humorous, sharing with us stories along the way.
