We had a tour scheduled for Ghent, but the day before the tour we were contacted through email saying that tour was no longer happening and that we had the option to choose one of the others for either the same price or by paying the extra difference. We chose to go to Bruges on a different day (luckily we we're very flexible with our days in Brussels). I didn't realize it was a large charter bus full of only Spanish speakers (even though we booked in English). We did have our own tour guide who gave us a separate tour once we got into Bruges all in English. She was great and gave us lots of good facts. However I wish we could have known the things they were saying on the bus in spanish. It was cheap and worth the money, but I don't know that I'd book again. The guides we'e very friendly and knowledgeable. As long as you're flexible, you'll be fine.
IMPORTANT: Your bus might not have a toilet on board. Keep that in mind before boarding. Great way to see Ghent. The guided tour in the morning is relatively short (compared to the tour for Bruges) so we had plenty of time to explore on our own. Our guide, Vita was very friendly and knowledgeable. The spanish tourguide on our bus, Melissa was great. Since we're bilingual we were able to listen in on the spanish tours and they were quite the characters. Definitely would recommend the spanish tour guides as well.
We had a wonderful tour to three different pubs with a very knowledge guide who gave us a great tour of Ghent and Belgium beer. She was very friendly and eager to teach us about beer and the area. I'd highly recommend this tour. We were visiting from Chicago and happy to have such a nice tour guide around the town for the tour.
I had the privilege of having Guimor my guide for the entire trip, just for me - because I was the only English speaking tourist on that day. She made it special with her handheld penguin (I forgot its name) and a super narration of past and present of Ghent. I liked it a lot. Thank you Guimor for such a wonderful experience.
Our trip to Ghent, Belgium was very good. It is a primarily Spanish-speaking group. However, Pablo (the tall one, FYI there are 2 Pablo's), was very good! He was able to translate and provide us with a bus and city tour/guide with all the main historical sites to see. Pablo did a great job! We can tell he enjoys his job.
