What people are saying about Guanajuato

Our full day ranch and horseback riding adventure was the highlight of our trip. I took my two kids, ages 11 and 7, neither of whom had any experience with horseback riding. They both we were hooting and hollering on the trails. Loved the ranch cookout food. It was so much fun for me to see then having an amazing adventure. Our guide Frederico was so patient and kind, showed us all sorts of interesting areas and fun facts. I would recommend light long sleeves and long pants. We bought cowboy hats in town sort of for fun but they ended up being crucial for sun protection on a full day at the ranch. I will always remember my son kicking his horse and trying yelling, “Yee haw’”. Highly recommend this tour, especially with little kids.

Sam was out tour guide for the chocolate tasting tour and he was great! We got to try traditional Mayan hot chocolate, which is different than the Mexican Hot Chocolate that we're accustomed to in the U.S. He also let us swap out parts of the tour, when he found out that we wanted to try local churros. He was very knowledgeable about the history and traditions of San Miguel. And when I ran into a friend unexpectedly, he was very accommodating in letting my friend join the tour too.

It was pure joy to join Sam on the chocolate tour. I felt like it was time well spent with an old friend. He is just such a genuinely kind soul. He shared lots of amazing history of San Miguel and the food and chocolate stops were divine. The mole sauce was pure heaven. I would encourage anyone who loves chocolate and great company to take this tour. Hope you will be able to tour with Sam!

Really fun range of chocolate based treats - not all sweet - savory too! Lots of history and interesting stories that really rounded out our experience here while keeping the kids engaged. Great choice for families.

Great people working here and looking out for your safety. Amazing experience flying over that canyon. Muchas gracias !!!
