  • From Seoul: Half-Day Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) Tour

    1. From Seoul: Half-Day Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) Tour

After an early-morning pick-up in Seoul, head off to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the strip of land between North and South Korea representative of the decades-long conflict on the peninsula. Your first destination will be Imjingpak Park, situated only 7 km from the Demarcation Line, and built in remembrance of the Korean War and in the hopes of reunification of the peninsula. Visit its observatory, monuments, and the Freedom Bridge, which was used to transport 13,000 prisoners home after the war. Then, visit the Third Infiltration Tunnel, discovered in 1978, an incomplete tunnel built by North Korea into the South. Discovered after a tip-off from a North Korean defector, the tunnel was denounced by the UN as an act of aggression by North Korea - it had reached only 44 km away from the city of Seoul. Descend into history as you explore the tunnel yourself! You can also visit Dora Obser...

Very informative and interesting tour. The tour company, and Amy in particular, was very helpful after out trip got rescheduled due to coronavirus and lack of people signed up for our slot, and were very helpful when we had difficulties organising a collection point. Our actual tour guide for the trip, Ko, was great. The tour was well organised, and she helped us understand the historical and cultural significance of what we were seeing, and was very humorous throughout it.

    2. Namiseom, Petite France, Garden of Morning Calm & Rail Bike

Meet your friendly coordinator at your preferred meeting point in Seoul and hop onto the comfortable tour bus with other travelers as you head to Gapyeong City. During the ride, be briefed on the details of the tour by your knowledgeable coordinator. If you select one of the options including the rail bike experience, drive to the rail bike station to enjoy riding along an old train track in the beautiful countryside, that has been converted into a serene rail bike track. Continue to The Garden of Morning Calm, a stunning garden that attracts families, friends, couples, and photographers with a variety of festivals held there throughout the year. Try some local food at the restaurants nearby. If you select the lunch add-on at check-out, you can try the region's signature dish, Dakgalbi (Korean style spicy chicken) and fried rice, served with water and soft drinks. Next, set off for Nam...

We booked this on a whim, so we weren't expecting much. The tour was quirky (i.e. the petite france theme park) but overall the experience exceeded our expectations! We loved Nami Park but probably would have ditched the Theme Park in favor of more time there. The final stop at the garden was amazing and definitely an unexpected highlight.
