Full description
Experience a culinary tour of Hamburg's Shanzenviertel. Characterized by the wide variety of cafes and bars, the district will delight you with endless culinary options. The Sternschanze was once a star-shaped defense structure. Today, it enjoys a cult status similar to the Reeperbahn. Nowhere else in Hamburg will you have the opportunity to see the fight against gentrification and commerce at first hand, and on the tour you will discuss current topics such as the increase in rent prices and the trade and interest of investors. Explore a district that has emerged as one of the trendiest areas in the city. With an area of 0.60 square kilometers, the Sternschanze is one of the smallest but also most exciting neighborhoods in the whole of Hamburg. Right in the heart of the district is the left-wing autonomous center, the “Rote Flora.” Follow in the footsteps of Carl Hagenbeck and the true “revolutionaries,” and visit the old piano factory. Along the way, stop at some of the local favorites in the area and enjoy the culinary diversity of the district with five different delicacies, as well as hear exciting stories and discover true craftsmanship.

We had booked the tour out of curiosity - culinary specialties. We had expected Hamburg specialties, but were not disappointed that they were international specialties. Although we were informed at short notice that our guide was ill, the lady from Get your Guide got a replacement guide who only took the tour with us 2 people. An extra thumbs up for that!

The food was very tasty and afterwards we got something to take away from one of the restaurants. It was freezing cold, but of course you can expect that if you book a city tour in winter. Nadine did her job great, always tried to give us as much warm-up time as possible and was super committed.

Our guide was Nadine. We had a "private tour" because no one except us registered on a dark December Sunday. Nadine guided us through the Schanzenviertel in a very informative way. The culinary stops were interesting and made you want to try something new. All in all, a perfect end to our short trip to Hamburg
