It came into existence more than a thousand years ago in the Red River Delta. In its earliest days, water puppetry portrayed the daily life of villagers – in farming and fishing activities, children’s play and in romance. Today the performance also brings in ancient legends and myths.

Highly recommend it! It was an amazing show with rich cultural stories that are embedded in traditional performances, very cheap price for such an amazing experience. I recommend getting the earphones to traslate the show so you can understand what they are talking about in your own language.

Loved the puppet show! you can get the tickets less than half price if you book direct at the theatre, but we chose this option for peace of mind that we would get a ticket and without waiting in the queue. We had to pick the tickets up about a 5/10 minute walk from the venue.

The water puppet show was lovely and a great cultural experience. However, if you are in the area on the day you are going to the show, just go and buy your tickets from the theatre in the morning for half the price. Get your Guide agents charge you double, then they just pick up the tickets from the theatre down the road to give to you.
