Originally built in the 14th century as a monastic wool store, it was converted in the 17th century into a row of weavers’ cottages. Burford's famous High Street sweeps downhill towards the River Windrush, its three-arched medieval bridge and its impressive church, both sides of the street flanked by an unbroken line of ancient houses and shops.
