Full description
Get picked up from your accommodation in Ho Chi Minh and make the 2-hour drive to Cai Be, deep in the luscious Mekong Delta. Stop in at South Vietnam's first ever chocolate factory and learn about the production process while snacking on freshly-made chocolate.
Continue on to reach the Mekong River and board an authentic local-style wooden boat. Float leisurely down the network of meandering tributaries, taking in views of the heavily-forested Evergreen Islands and steep arroyos. Enjoy lunch, then cruise along the river to discover beautiful landscapes and observe the typical Mekong Delta rural life. End your day in Can Tho where you'll stay for the night.
Start your second day with breakfast at your hotel before taking a motor boat to Cai Rang, a vast floating market where most of the trading activities of the Mekong River take place. Afterwards, enjoy a short bike ride to a local village to experience the rhythm of local daily life. Before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City, visit the famous Vinh Trang Pagoda and have lunch at a local restaurant.
