Full description
You will be picked up at your hotel, then driven towards Vung Tau. Before arriving at military sites, you will stop at Ba Ria for your entrance permit.
The former site of the ANZAC’s Nui Dat Task Force Base (Nui Dat SAS Hill) is the first destination. In the past, the ANZAC’s occupation forced inhabitants to move about 4 kilometers away from the base, meaning that villagers of Long Tan and Long Phuoc were resettled. Apart from the columns at the main gate, little remains of the military camp today. Catch a glimpse of the former runway, which is now a local street, and the former helipad, which is now a soccer ground at the local village.
Later, go to the Discourtesy Rubber Plantation after passing by the Horseshoe. Pay a visit to the Long Tan Cross, which was erected in August 1969 with the aim of commemorating the soldiers of ANZAC, who fell in the Vietnam War. Discover the inside of Long Phuoc Tunnels, including the fighting pits, first-aid station and meeting places. At the end of the tour, you will return to Ho Chi Minh City.
