Phong was our tour guide. He was great, with fluent English and brilliant knowledge of everywhere and everything we saw, answered all our questions. He gave us insight into the traditions and culture of the areas of the Mekong Delta that we visited. We drove for ~3 hours out of the city, then got a short boat ride to an area where we saw rice paper being made, coconut sweets being made and wrapped, and many souvenirs made from coconuts. We got to try many different local snacks with some tea. We visited a honey farm and had more tea. We made jewellery from water hyacinth, and learned the art of hammock making from banana leaves. We were treated to a performance of traditional music with singing and acting, while enjoying some local fruit to eat. We went on a short rowing boat ride, and then met up with our bigger boat again to go to a place where we were given lunch of local food, including fish, rice and chicken. Went on a short cycle of the locality before 3 hours back to the city.

We had the most wonderful day with Joy. She is an amazing guide.

What a wonderful day trip. Our guide Joy was so awesome. She is extremely knowledgeable, kind and caring. Has no issues with answering any questions and she is very passionate. The day is full of adventure and learning about life on the Mekong. I would recommend this tour to anyone traveling in Saigon. We ate fresh local fruit. Drank honey tea at the bee farm. Had a lovely home stay lunch and explored the local village and markets. Transportation is top class as ate all the boats on the Delta. Thank you so much Joy you are a legend. ♥️
