Full description
Whilst the streets are quiet enjoy a city highlights tour en route to Hobart’s spectacular backdrop, Kunanyi (Mt. Wellington). Take in the famous pristine Tasmanian air as you drive up the 1272 meters to the pinnacle where you will be greeted by the very best view of Hobart and surroundings. After you take that perfect Instagram worthy selfie, you will have, no doubt, worked up a hunger! It is now time for Salamanca Market. This world class market offers the best of Tassie culture - art, produce, buskers, souvenirs, beverages and much more.  After 90 minutes of exploring the markets (Saturdays only), make your way to Richmond, an iconic township rich in convict history, sandstone and colonial buildings and home to Australia’s oldest bridge and catholic church. The afternoon presents you with two options. The first is Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary where you can hand feed kangaroos and get up close and personal with all the unique Tasmanian Wildlife including the famous Tasmanian Devil. This is an absolute highlight, even for a local!  The second option is MONA Museum - the largest privately owned museum in the southern hemisphere! Known and loved for its quirky and strange art, this museum also offers restaurants and bars that showcase their wine and Tasmanian produce. Enjoy wandering around this amazing world renowned museum of old and new art. Now if both options sound equally appealing, you can visit both! Tickets for Bonorong and Mona are not included in the tour price. If you would like to visit both attractions, you can pay an additional $22 to take the ferry back to your accommodation.

This is a wonderful adventure not to be missed. The 5 mini tours were scheduled according to the weather, so we arrived at Mt. Wellington when the clouds had cleared and the view was lovely. Feeding and scratching kangaroos made our day! The Sanctuary is a great habitat for a wide variety on native species you wouldn’t otherwise see. Totally dedicated trip guide gave a splendid overview and numerous stops, including lunch, were well timed and made easy for us. Great value.

It was a great mix of nature, history, and modern sites of interest in and around Hobart. My only suggestion would be to provide a little more time at Richmond Village.
