Full description

Discover Bruny Island’s spectacular landscapes, gourmet produce, and inspiring locals on a guided tour with a knowledgeable local guide. Tours depart daily from Hobart and local accommodation. Relax and enjoy this fully inclusive experience showcasing the best of Bruny Island. Try cheeses, oysters, fudge, premium wines, honey, and mead. Meet some of the island’s artisan producers, people who put their energy and spirit into handcrafting these renowned products. Stop for a delicious lunch at Pennicott’s beachside restaurant with sweeping views of Adventure Bay.  Throughout the day you'll see incredible scenery. At The Neck, see the narrow isthmus stretch away south in graceful curves. Take a stroll and leave your footprints in the sand of a deserted beach. The light bush of the northern island gives way to the dense rainforest of the south's Mavista Rainforest - a pristine environment home to diverse wildlife including rare white wallabies.

Board the ferry for a return crossing to Kettering, followed by a short drive back to Hobart, where hotel drop-offs are available on request.

Guide was excellent- knowledgeable and humorous. Bus was modern and clean. Pickup and drop-off service excellent. Lunch option was disappointing- there was very little option (fish and chips, salad, fish, chips or salad) fish was crumbed, dry and over cooked. Drink vouchers for lunch were generous. Freebie samples of produce (honey, fudge and mead) were appreciated. Cheese and beer tasting was good but felt quite rushed despite there being plenty of time. Ablution facilities were good. A note about physical requirements upon booking would be beneficial. Cheese place didn’t cater for teenager/young adult in terms of tour experience though tried to make feel welcome.

Quite possibly the best experience we had as a group tour. This wasnt just another business for the organisers - they genuinely care for the locals, the people onboard and the community. The tour guide - Matt was exceptional, informative, funny, interactive and more importantly caring! We had a 2 year old and matt was nothing but patient with us, took care of us with any special needs ie meals etc. gave us extra time during any breaks! We were so happy and thankful at the end of this all. Speaking for the actual experience - u get to enjoy the best of Bruny in a short period! The restaurants chosen to experience the local food / wine / cheese was spot on! The locations chosen for experience were relevant! I honestly cant find any fault at all! Thank you Matt and team for making our holiday extra special! Looking forward to the next adventure with you !! Aswin

Guided commentary and scenery was fab, but would have loved to have had a tasting session of more brews with the cheese - only one sample, thought there may be more. Lunch spot was lovely with view. All activities good but missed out on a whiskey or gin tasting which may have also been good to do.
