London: Suffrage Movement Self-guided Audio Tour

2. London: Suffrage Movement Self-guided Audio Tour

Explore the Holborn area of London with this self-guided walking tour, based on the story of the militant women's rights movement. The story begins in 1906, when Emmeline Pankhurst and her daughters move from Manchester to London. The four women are co-founders of WSPU - the Women's Social and Political Union - and they are fed up with women being treated as second class citizens. At this point, the women’s rights movement in the UK had been at a standstill for 40 years. Politicians kept making promises about granting women the right to vote, but nothing seemed to happen. WSPU takes on a new slogan: “Deeds, not words” and gets to work. Their militant activism includes radical actions such as public protests, arson, and bombings. The Suffragettes of London audio tour invites you to an interesting walk through Holborn, which was the epicenter of the London suffrage movement. Your digital narrator is a historian who will tell you the story of what happened, while you walk between the locations where it all took place. To walk this tour, you will download a separate app to your phone. An e-mail with all instructions will be sent to you after the purchase is complete. Please make sure to read through it before you go. You will be guided through the city with both visual and audio aid to ensure that you walk in the right direction. The tour will be yours to keep. You can use it at any time and as many times as you wish. Through the app, you can interact with photographs and illustrations of the people involved. The app shows you what the lives of the suffragettes were like and how their actions impacted women's rights. The only thing you need to be able to step into the story is a smartphone with headphones. Travel back in time and experience an important part of history!

Hello, I read a lot in advance and then booked with the best ones. Golden Tours! You simply can't go wrong here. You are welcomed so warmly and you can never miss the stops. There is a map and the app to be on the safe side. At each stop, a friendly guide is always available to answer questions. We did the tour on 12/25. made with two adults and two boys 8/11. We would book again at any time. By the way, I booked everything through geht your gide. I didn't understand why fast lane tickets for the London eye were fully booked. On site, directly at the ticket counter, this is no problem at all and you can buy the ticket without queuing. Combo tickets are worth it, but as I said, they were fully booked. The hop on hop can be booked over several days. It does not get boring!!

For those who don't know the city and don't want to waste time, the bus is the best option to get to know several interesting points, you can get off and get to know several points of the city in a single day.

Very interesting tour to get a first glimpse of London. Very comprehensive audio guide commentary. Very helpful and friendly driver.

It was really cool to walk around and get to know a little bit of London history.

Perfect experience! The app for getting the voucher however was not optimal!
