After being picked up from your accommodation, you will travel west to the historic area of Borgarfjörður, a region that can be regarded as the setting for most of the Icelandic sagas. First, visit the charming Glanni Waterfall and Deildartunguhver Geothermal Area. Afterward, you will see the great Hraunfossar, a series of waterfalls spread at a distance of around 900 meters. The waters flow out of the Hallmundarhraun, a lava field that was formed around 1,000 years ago during a massive eruption of a volcano lying under a Langjökull glacier. Rivulets streaming from the lava field create one of the most breath-taking views in Iceland, and just a few meters away, you will find another interesting waterfall.  The highlight of the tour is a visit to a colorful Vidgelmir lava cave. Just shy of 1,600 meters in length, the cave features amazing colors and lava formations that lurk in the depths of the earth. The area surrounding the entrance to the cave will allow you to realize just how powerful eruptions of volcanoes can be. Lastly, visit the Reykholt historic site where you can learn about the history of Iceland and see Snorralaug, small hot spring used by local people since the 12th century. This place was first mentioned in medieval writings OF Snorri Sturluson, the famous Icelandic poet, and politician who used to bathe there.

Day 4 – Northern Iceland Start your day at Akureyri, the capital of the North. Here you will enjoy the atmosphere of this charming town and take part in whale-watching boat tour. While driving through the North Coast towards Reykjavik you will have a moment to enjoy the Hvítserkur and Kolugjufur Canyon. Day 5 (optional) – Borgarfjörður and Lava Caving Admire the great Hraunfossar, a series of waterfalls formed by rivulets streaming over a distance of almost 300 ft. Afterwards, see the majestic Barnafoss waterfall and Reykholt Historic Site. Later, head inside the biggest lava cave in Iceland, Viðgelmir, before finishing the day at Deildartunguhver, the highest flowing hot spring in Europe. Day 6 (optional) – Snæfellsnes National Park Spend the day exploring Snæfellsnes National Park. This park has often been referred to as "Iceland in miniature", due to its many varieties of geology. Day 7 (optional) – Golden Circle Finish your time in Iceland with a journey along Iceland's most popular route. Start in Reykjavik and head to Borgarnes, the gateway to West Iceland. Make your first stop at Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in Europe, which is so strong that it provides hot water and power for the locals for miles around. Spend some time walking amongst the steaming clouds of vapor. Move onto Hraunfossar, also known as the "Lava Waterfalls." Take in the sight from several viewing platforms and see how the water stretches for nearly a kilometer over ancient lava fields, with meltwater from the Langjokull glacier pouring into the Hvita river. Just a few yards away is Barnafoss, also known as “the waterfall of the children,” named after the tragic tale of two local children. Your next stop is Husafell, a breathtaking woodland oasis and a historical site with traditional turf houses and even some “elf huts” to delight the children, too. See intriguing works by local artists, as well as the famous “Lifting Stone of Husafell.” From Husafell, be transported in 4x4 cars further inland to the Deildargil Canyon, where you’ll see Langifoss, a towering two-tiered waterfall off the beaten path and which few people know of. Continue to the highlight of the tour, the Canyon Baths, for a traditional Icelandic hot spring experience at a sustainable, remote location found deep in the magnificent Hringsgil canyon. Bathe in 3 geothermally-heated stone pools of varying temperatures (30-41°C or 86-105°F), along with a cold-water pool and a cooling waterfall. Feel relaxed in the peaceful atmosphere, thanks to the limited capacity of 20 visitors at a time. Imagine what it was like for the early settlers to bathe in the same way. We’ll then return to the city for the night. Day 3 | South Coast Waterfalls & Black Beach The third day takes you to Iceland’s stunning South Coast, where you’ll be amazed by a parade of astonishing waterfalls, including Seljalandsfoss, Gljúfrabúi, and Skógafoss. You’ll get close to a glittering glacier at Sólheimajökull, discover the dark rock arches of Dyrhólaey, and walk on the famous black sand beach at Reynisfjara. We’ll stay in the peaceful countryside overnight, always watching for the Northern Lights overhead, provided the weather conditions are suitable! Day 4 | Glacier Lagoon & Blue Ice Cave The final day brings you to the dream destination of the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach at Jökulsárlón. Then we’ll take you deep into the Vatnajökull National Park with a Super Jeep journey for a Blue Ice Cave experience! On our return to Reykjavík, you’ll also see a traditional turf-roofed church at Hofskirkja.

A morning drive from Reykjavik in our Mountain Taxi Super jeep brings us to Kaldidalur or "Cold Valley". On our right lies the western side of the massive, nearly 1.000 square kilometers large Langjökull glacier, resting on a torn and twisted volcanic base. Depending on the time of year, weather, and conditions, your expert driver may use his super jeep's extreme abilities to climb the glacial slopes of Langjökull. An opportunity for cold, personal contact with nature's icy element. We drive from the glacier, through Húsafell to Hraunfossar waterfalls, dropping straight out of lava cliff faces into the glacial river Hvítá. From nature to culture, we visit the historic site of Reykholt, home of Iceland’s legendary chieftain and writer Snorri Sturluson. Here, he wrote some of the greatest Sagas of the Icelanders, brilliant literature also preserving the culture and history of the Viking Age to our day. Nearby is Deildartunguhver, the most productive hot spring in the Northern Hemisphere and a source of much of western Iceland’s heating needs. Our day wraps up in Reykjavik, taking in the scenic and historic Hvalfjörður fjord on the way.
