I took my 6 years old son for a day trip in Cairo. He is a very tough boy and slept all the time to Cairo and back but trip can be tiering. We were picked up from hotel by taxi and taken to Hurghada to join 4 other people. We travelled in a mini bus, 6 people so we had plenty space for ourselves. With my son we had all seats at the back of minibus to stretch and sleep on the way there and back. After 6 hours of drive, toilet stop we arrived in Cairo.

Unforgettable experience. We were very lucky to have Ahmed as our guide as he made our tour around the museum interesting & explained in detail each room & what each item was. The new museum is due to open in April, some of the artefacts have already been moved there in preparation. We were given the added extra of going down the Nile to have lunch which was well worth the extra money. The pyramids & sphinx are amazing. Be aware of sellers in the entrance to the museum & the pyramids will keep pushing you to buy. The papyrus shop is interesting you can get a really good deal & all genuine. Only negative our transport was a small bus cramped & uncomfortable as it was an 8 hour journey there, pick up 01.30 & arrived back at 00.20.

Very well organized trip! The driving is a bit long, but once you’re there you forget everything. So much beauty to take in! big thanks to our guide Ahmed who was very kind, knowledgeable, passionate and made sure we enjoyed our day. I highly recommend this tour!
