  • From Húsavík: Traditional Whale Watching Tour

    1. From Húsavík: Traditional Whale Watching Tour

Climb aboard a traditional Icelandic oak boat and experience a traditional whale watching tour from Europe's whale watching capital at Húsavík. Sail out into the bay and prepare to be captivated by the work of Mother Nature. Your specialized guide will give a safety demonstration on board the boat and then feed you live commentary on all the sights you will encounter. Skjálfandi Bay is known for its rich wildlife, including numerous types, shapes and sizes of whale. Keep a look out for the acrobatic humpback whales and giant blue whales. This is wild nature and therefore unpredictable, but your chances of seeing whales in their natural environment is very high. Sail back to Húsavík harbor and enjoy the stunning scenery with a cup of hot chocolate and a traditional Icelandic kleina (twisted donut).

No whales, but two different types of dolphins, beautiful scenery and an awesome guide. Great experience.

It was really a great experience and the guides were just great! So that we could see whales we drove extra far out and were even longer than advertised. As a result, we were lucky and were able to see whales relatively close to our boat. It was a really cool result!

Nice and very informative ride. Unfortunately it didn't work out with the really big whales, but that's just a matter of luck. Minke whales, for example, were there.

It was a great tour. We saw Two Humpback Whales which was great. The jumpsuits were warm.

This was SUCH an amazing tour, our group was obsessed with the whole experience!

The guide was super informative, and we saw lots of dolphins and small whales!
