At the base of the arch, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier pays tribute to the 1.3 million French soldiers who died in World War I. Behold the eternal flame that is rekindled at 6.30 PM each evening. In addition, there is a must-see exhibition that explains the symbolic importance of this monument. The view from the top of the arch is worth climbing the 284 stairs. From your privileged position, survey all of Paris. Unlike the obligatory Eiffel Tower trip, getting into the Arc de Triomphe is an effort not all tourists undertake. The Arc is AMAZING!! However, the description of the ticket can be confusing—I saw multiple people asking for clarification because they were under the impression that they could just walk up and be let in instead of having to wait in line. In reality, purchasing this ticket allows you to only have to wait in one line instead of two—the security line…to be fair, that line will wrap all the way around the Arc, but it does move pretty quickly.

The guide tour was very helpful. He speaks English very well and has a lot of knowledge about the museum and the stories behind each painting

Versailles was impressive but be ready for a lot of info from the guide and lots of people.

Easy, short line, great information. Our guide, Laura, was fantastic.
