Full description

Enjoy a full-day food and sightseeing tour of Gruyères and Bern, with round-trip private transfers from Interlaken. Following a hotel pick-up, drive to the French part of Switzerland and the village of Gruyères in the Fribourg Canton. Visit the famous Gruyère cheese factory to learn the secrets of the tasty semi-firm Swiss cheese. Then, explore the medieval streets of Gruyères Old Town. Enjoy a snack in the futuristic HR Giger Bar, but save some space for dessert. After lunch, go to the Cailler chocolate factory, where you will get to sample as many pralines and chocolate bits as you can manage following a tour of the production facilities. Continue to La Gruyère Lake to take panoramic photos of the slopes of La Berra and Le Gibloux. Drive on to Bern to tour the UNESCO World Heritage Old Town. Surrounded on 3 sides by the Aare River, the picturesque city boasts significant houses, bridges, and public buildings of the 13th to 18th centuries. Admire the Renaissance-style Parliament Building of the 19th century, and the 13th-century Zytglogge clock tower with its 15th-century astronomical clock face. See the old Bärengraben (Bear Pit) and adjacent BärenPark, where the city’s symbolic bears are now kept.

We had a wonderful time with Sibylle and would definitely recommend this tour to others. She was very informative and knowledgeable and we got to take in the sights at our own pace and never felt rushed. We enjoyed many tasty treats along the way and enjoyed learning some of the history and culture that makes Switzerland such a wonderful place.
