Full description
Admire the opulent Royal Apartments and private family bedrooms within the mansion. See the twin desks where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert worked. Explore the magnificently decorated Durbar Room. The furniture and artifacts reveal intricate details about entertainment at Osborne, from state banquets to family meals. Currently, only the lower floor of Osborne House is open for visitors to view. See where the royal children played house and tended their own gardens down at the Swiss Cottage. There's a room dressed as it was on 11th July 1861, when the children prepared afternoon tea for their parents, not long before Prince Albert's tragic death.  Stroll in the pleasure gardens, alongside historic trees, and enjoy the Victorian Walled Garden much as the royal couple did. Take a trip down to the royal family's once jealously guarded private beach, with Victoria's restored bathing machine.

Beautiful setting with fabulous views of the Solent, Osborne House was a sumptuous collection of family rooms decorated with Victoria and Albert’s entwined initials. The garden are colourful and well kept in hues of orange, purple and lemon flowers. Spent a happy few hours wandering around, admiring the house from all angles.

I thought the house was very impressive and the rooms perfectly maintained with lots of interesting items from Queen Victoria’s time. I was disappointed that the upstairs rooms were closed due to Covid restrictions. I was very impressed with the gardens and the location with beautiful views down to the sea.

Beautiful grounds and house worth a visit we were so blessed as the sun shone brightly and blue sky was abundant. Lovely walk down to the private beach. The only thing missing was venturing through the 2nd floor as had to stay on ground level so unable to walk down the corridor's to the bedroom areas.
