Full description
Discover the life that lies deep in the Azores Sea from the comfort of this glass-bottom boat, with an expert crew and guide. Your adventure begins at Vila Franca do Campo Marina. A biologist will give you a briefing about the itinerary and then you can set off. Learn about the marine life, nature, and historical curiosities of Vila Franca do Campo. You can spot the unique sea life of the protected area and observe the seabirds and crustaceans that fill the islet landscape. The biologist will help you identify the species, but you can expect to see everything from colorful shoals of fish, to starfish, sea cucumbers, and underwater volcanic activity. When you want to cool off you can go for a swim and snorkel, and get closer to some of the wildlife you've been spotting.

First of all: We booked the tour for 9:00 a.m., but upon arrival we were told that the tour was overbooked because getyourguide issued tickets even though the time slot was already fully booked. Oh well. Were able to rebook to 2:30 p.m. on the same day. About the tour: On the way to the island, the guide tells a lot about São Miguel and the place, as well as the island where snorkeling takes place. When snorkeling itself, the staff tries to show as much as possible. However, the experience is dampened by old and leaky diving goggles (if you bring your own, it's best to bring them with you). On the boat tour itself, you didn't see much of the underwater fauna.

The nicest tour we‘ve ever had! The captain and the guide are amazing people, we‘ve had the best time! We can highly recommend this tour for everybody that enjoys snorkeling and learning new things and facts about the place you are visiting. The glass bottom is a really cool way to spot the fish before you dive and snorkeling around the island is really nice! Thank you guys for a really cool time! We will gladly come back again! Our tour guide Sara and skipper Edmundo were friendly, efficient, and knowledgable. We liked that it was 2 hours ( so not a 4 hour whale watching boat tour). We went around the islet VF, and those that wanted to snorkel did so, others just swam, some stayed on boat. There are life jackets on board but are the minimal standard orange ones so if you have kids that need them bring your own. It was quite roomy on the boat even had a WC if needed. Great if you want to do some light learning and have an aquatic activity without too much commitment.
