Full description

Discover Istanbul's most iconic sights on a van tour. Listen to your guide recount tales of the city's colorful past as you pass by landmarks such as the Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, and Hippodrome. Round off the experience with a visit to the Grand Bazaar, one of the oldest covered markets in the world.

Start your tour at the Hippodrome of Constantinople, which was the sports and social center of the old city. Discover major artworks including the Obelisk from Egypt, the Serpentine Column from Delphi, and the fountain of Willhelm II.

Then, continue to the Blue Mosque, whose 6 minarets adorn Istanbul’s skyline. Next up is the Topkapi Palace, which was home to Ottoman emperors between the 15th and 19th centuries.

Marvel at the jewel-stuffed treasury, the Ottoman Empire's imperial collections, and priceless displays of Oriental porcelain. If the Topkapi Palace is closed on your trip date, you'll visit the Nakkas Cistern instead.

Continue to the Hagia Sophia Mosque, a monument of equal significance to the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. Behold the dome and stunning mosaics of this architectural gem as your guide recounts its turbulent history. Then, enter the Grand Bazaar with over 3,000 shops selling everything from carpets to jewelry to ceramics and leather goods. Take a stroll around the Spice Bazaar and soak in the aroma of different spices, dried fruits, nuts, sweets, and lokum (Turkish Delights).

Good day interesting even if tiring. For the morning appointment, it would be better to have an appointment at 10 a.m. in front of the 1st place to visit Sainte sophie rather than at 9 a.m. at the hotel where we were right next door; because afterwards you have to wait for everyone and it opens at 10am. And surprising to have an obligatory passage in 2 shops (Leather and Carpet) before the big bazaar. For lunch, for some it was included in the price and not for us! So obliged to have lunch at the reserved restaurant because you have to stay with the group. We were lucky because nice group :-)))

Great tour with lots of insight to history you need to be prepared for long walks and passing through big crowds. It would have been nice if we were able to enter the blue mosque. Due to construction work part closure, but prayer area is open so would have been nice if we had the opportunity to pray there. To make this trip moneys worth I think lunch should have been included. If we are to pay for lunch it would be nice to have a choice of restaurants. Our guide Baris was very professional he resolved a dispute very smoothly for me so special thanks to him.

The guide on the tour was amazing, spoke good english, knowledgable was detail oriented. The reason I say he knew the difference between new and old water containers used for the horses. Next was tourist sitting on a stone which was used to behead people and he informed the group about it. The reason I gave a good rating is the driver did not turn up to pick us up and drop us at the end of the tour. The tour huid was very apologetic and eventually put us on a team. We reached the hotel safely. This guide is an asset to the tour company he works for.
