Full description

Make your own way to the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon to experience a natural ice cave from the luxury of a huge custom-made super jeep. Drive for approximately 30-40 minutes to the base of the glacier outlet at Breiðamerkurjökull, where the glacier retreats every year to make every season a unique experience. Pick-up all the necessary security gear to explore the cave in safety using helmets and crampons. Then, enter the cave with a guide who will explain the most important features of the extraordinary phenomenon. Visit a crevasse after the ice cave, weather permitting.

The ice cave was amazing and our guide was incredibly friendly/helpful, etc. That ice cave was one of those things that you are lucky to see once in a lifetime. The only negative I have to say was really beyond our guide's control - there are multiple companies that operate ice cave tours, and the ice cave was slightly crowded and we had to wait at times for other groups spending far too long taking photos... but when you're standing and waiting, you're standing in the middle of this amazing natural phenomenon, so its not really that bad, you know? Basically, if you're going to Iceland, I think you have to visit an ice cave, and if you want a shorter tour with an easy/short 15-20 minute hike to and from the cave, this is definitely the tour for you.
