The visit was very entertaining and fun! When I came to Meteora as a child, I remember visiting monastery after monastery, which was fascinating but also a bit boring and repetitive, especially for a child. Now that I came back (20 years later) I was so excited to find such a great way to explore the area. This tour brings you to secret spots that you would never find on your own. Tells you stories that you would not find anywhere else. And takes you around Meteora on a bus, freeing you of the hassle of driving around and probably get lost. The guide was very knowledgeable and kind, and answered all of our silly questions about this marvelous place. I recommend the sunset tour, since (especially in august) can be very exhausting and unpleasant to spend so much time under the hot summer sun. The journey ends on a wonderful panoramic rock on top of the mountain, from where you can admire the lone monasteries, lost in the mist during the sundown. Stunning! That's a 5 stars from me! :)

Great tour to a fantastic destination. Sure, the trip is a little long, but it is very much worth it. Our tour guide Lazarous gave us a lot of information on the way there, during our time at Meteora we were free to roam around at our own pace, while our guide was available for questions. We visited two monasteries, as well as a viewpoint which commanded a view of five of the six monasteries still in operation. The lunch place at Kastraki is (as others have mentioned) somewhat expensive, but you are not in any way obligated to have lunch there. You can go into town on your own, or even hike back up the road. Right behind the restaurant (marked with a sign) there is also a little trail which loops around the base of the foothills and ends where a series of caves in the rockface begin. Can recommend doing this for those who don't want to spend a whole our on lunch. We were very pleased with the punctuality and professionality of the organization. A great trip in all!

Getting to the monasteries can be long and difficult. The tour bus picked me up from my accommodation and we visited 2 of the monasteries which were still open. We saw all the rest and had time to take photos which was perfectly adequate. The day I did the tor the weather was appalling heavy mist and rain but the driver and guide did their very best in the trying circumstances.

Absolutely worth it the 3 hours bus trip to Meteora, the Views are really breathtaking, and also really incredible to see how the monks could build those monasteries, our guide was also very friendly and funny and gave us a lot of tips for our Stay in Thessaloniki

A relatively long day to reach the amazing sites of Meteora monasteries as the round trip transportation from Thessaloniki takes 5-6 hours. However, the places are not crowded with rejuvenating serenity. The lunch restaurant also has an amazing view of caves.
