What people are saying about Kalabaka

The visit was very entertaining and fun! When I came to Meteora as a child, I remember visiting monastery after monastery, which was fascinating but also a bit boring and repetitive, especially for a child. Now that I came back (20 years later) I was so excited to find such a great way to explore the area. This tour brings you to secret spots that you would never find on your own. Tells you stories that you would not find anywhere else. And takes you around Meteora on a bus, freeing you of the hassle of driving around and probably get lost. The guide was very knowledgeable and kind, and answered all of our silly questions about this marvelous place. I recommend the sunset tour, since (especially in august) can be very exhausting and unpleasant to spend so much time under the hot summer sun. The journey ends on a wonderful panoramic rock on top of the mountain, from where you can admire the lone monasteries, lost in the mist during the sundown. Stunning! That's a 5 stars from me! :)

Learned so much about this amazing place

This is a great tour. We did it the first day we arrived to learn more about the area and the monasteries then spent the next 2 days hiking. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The monasteries and views are amazing and the sunset was breathtaking. The only downfall was that there was a Spanish speaking family who had an interpreter with them. I’m not sure if this was supplied by the tour company or if he was a personal friend, but he had to repeat everything the guide said and as it was a small bus, and he was rather loud, this was quite distracting.

Getting to the monasteries can be long and difficult. The tour bus picked me up from my accommodation and we visited 2 of the monasteries which were still open. We saw all the rest and had time to take photos which was perfectly adequate. The day I did the tor the weather was appalling heavy mist and rain but the driver and guide did their very best in the trying circumstances.

Meteora itself is jaw-dropping, the sunset is there to whoever wants to watch it. However, the history behind those rocks and the community that’s surrounded by must be told by who knows it better. Cristina and the driver - the best photographer ever!! - were just perfect! I would give them hundreds of stars if I could :).

Informative, breathtaking and overall absolutely stunning

The guide and driver were extremely friendly and informative. I was alone and they took pictures for me which was great. The guide knew what she was talking about and made it a wonderful experience would definitely recommend doing this tour.
