This was one of the best guided tours I’ve ever been on, in large part because we had an excellent tour guide named Nesma. We enjoyed the tour so much that we booked another one for the next day at Memphis, Saqqara, and Dashur with the same tour guide. We were picked up at our hotel by a car with a dedicated driver, in addition to the tour guide (no other visitors—just my group of 2). We then went straight to the Giza pyramids (including Sphinx) to beat the crowds/heat. Our tour guide took amazing photos and made recommendations about how to best use our time. We were then taken to a papyrus art house for a presentation and opportunity to buy the art. Next we went to lunch at a local restaurant, which was very good—chicken and lamb. The food was included, and although the drinks were not included, they were very cheap. Next, we went to the Egyptian Museum where our tour guide showed us all the most important artifacts and knew a lot of history. Then went to the bazaar.

My wife & I booked a private tour through the "Get Your Guide" app. We were lucky enough to be assigned Ahmed Elsayed. He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, well spoken and passionate about his job. If you book a tour, I recommend that you specifically request Ahmed Elsayed. Highlights of the Cairo tour included riding camels at the second viewing point at the pyramids where all three are in view. In addition, the museum was filled with extremely impressive artifacts. We actually ended up booking a second tour with Ahmed Elsayed two days later to Alexandria. On that tour we visited the Kim al-Shoqafa, Pompey's Pillar, Qaitbay Citadel, the Alexandria Library and had a lovely meal on the waterfront.

Received email confirmation and pick up time the evening before. The agent was waiting in reception at allotted time with our flight boarding passes (outward and return) and then we had transfer in private car to airport. Here security was very strict and extremely slow...2 complete security checks before boarding gate. Allow at least 1-1.5 hours extra time for this. There are no facilities other than toilets. Very short flight with drinks and biscuits. Met at other end in Cairo by tour guide who was easily identifiable. Group consisted of 7 adults. Had our own air con mini bus all day so could leave stuff in bus. Our guide Tharwat spoke good English and was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. We agreed to go to Egyptian Museum instead of Sakkara and were glad we did. Tharwat included this in our original price. The included lunch was in a lovely restaurant overlooking the pyramids. As well as Giza plateau Tharwat took us to visit 2 Businesses (papyrus and oils) and a mall
