Hue: Full-Day Demilitarized Zone Tour

1. Hue: Full-Day Demilitarized Zone Tour

Discover the historic Demilitarized Zone of Vietnam, recognized by the Geneva Conference on 21 July 1954 on the 17th parallel, temporarily dividing the country into 2 states. Your guide will take you to Quang Tri province, where you will visit the Church of La Vang, and Dong Ha town, location of an important US Marine Combat Base, providing surveillance of the troops across the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). See Doc Mieu base, part of an elaborate electronic system intended to prevent infiltration across the DMZ. Explore Hien Luong Bridge (Peace Bridge), built from steel by the French in 1950. At Cua Tung Beach, see where the Ben Hai River flows from west to east just south of the 17th parallel. Explore the Vinh Moc tunnels complex deep in the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone. After lunch at a local restaurant, learn about the ethnic minority people and see the Dakrong Bridge across the Dakrong River. Explore the Ho Chi Minh Trail, which ran from North Vietnam to South Vietnam through neighboring Laos and Cambodia. Continue to Rock Pile base for American long range artillery, and Khe Sanh combat base in the rolling mountains and forests of the valley.

From Hue: Vietnam's DMZ Full-Day Group or Private Tour

2. From Hue: Vietnam's DMZ Full-Day Group or Private Tour

Embark on a guided full-day tour and discover the historically important Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) in the Quang Tri Province and get a deeper understanding of the Vietnam War on the local culture. Choose from a shared group tour or a private tour.   Get picked up by your driver and guide at the lobby of your hotel in Hue central and then travel to the town of Dong Ha, stopping to visit important historical sites along the way.  Arrive at Dakrong bridge located along Highway 9 and the starting point of Highway 15, one of the main branches of the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Admire the bridge’s graceful architecture against beautiful backdrops of rivers and mountains. Next, visit the Khe Sanh Combat Base, a United States Marine Corps outpost south of the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) used during the Vietnam War. Enjoy a lunch break at a traditional restaurant and then head off to Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River, an important landmark in the splitting of the country into a northern and a southern zone along the 17th parallel by the Geneva Accords of 1954. Make your last stop at Vinh Moc tunnels, an underground miniature village, now a museum, which is the largest historical tunnel in the DMZ of Vietnam.

This tour is a must if you are visiting Vietnam! Our guide (Ms. Thach) spoke fluently english and had great knowlege about the War + DMZ + history of Vietnam. We learned a lot and could follow her words easily. The comunication with the Indochina Company (especially Ms. Anh) was also easy and friendly. Both were always available on the phone and on time. Thanks for that! 4 Stars because its pricey + you have to spend a long time in the car. But thats not the problem of the company. It is because you simply have to drive that long from Point of interest to PoI. It can get boring, especially if you are travelling with little ones or someone who is not so interested in the tour itself. Lunch was delicious (local food)! Information for readers: keep in mind, that not every point of interest looks like during the war times. many roads have been build. trees grew etc. i does not look like a vietnam battlefield. some museum pieces are replicas, but the locations are the real ones.

We only booked the evening before at 6 p.m. and had a nice confirmation directly via the whatts app. The trip with Mr. thý was an incredibly impressive experience. We were picked up right on time at the hotel in the old town, and received totally nice. We got an incredible amount of information about Vietnam, the DMZ, people's attitudes and contexts in mega good English. The lunch was simply an incredibly great and delicious experience. the car and driver were well looked after, safe and very careful .... would book it again !! We were back at the hotel at 6.30pm.

Exciting trip, very good guide.

Excursion you have to make in Vietnam to understand the story better. Our guide Vinh gave us a great insight and showed us other interesting points on the way to the EMZ and explained. There was also a great meal in Dong Ha.

A very interesting tour with lots of information about the history of Vietnam. Our guide Vinh was amazing and could tell us many details. Additionally we had the Lucky to get a private tour.

The trip was very interesting, impressive and touching.

The trip is only recommended. We had an incredibly nice guide with Jack, who told us a lot. Any time!
