Full description

Leave dry land behind and sail around Makena Landing, also known locally as “Turtle Town”. Feast your eyes on the incredible biodiversity of green sea turtles and reef fish, as well as the occasional manta and spotted eagle rays, octopi, dolphins, monk seals, humpback whales (December through April) and little white-tip reef sharks.

The entire rental process takes 2 hours. Normal time to get checked in, waivers signed, provide paddle and safety instruction as well as an overview of the area is 5-15 min depending on your group. You will then have the remainder of your reserved time to paddle the waters far from the tourist crowds, paddling where you want on a steady and easy-to-use kayak. The more you take your time, the more you're likely to see!

We brought our 2 yr old and she loved it! Life jackets were provided for everyone and we were helped in and out of the water. We were even given advice on the best spots to visit.

We were forced to start late due to kayak delivery truck having a flat tire. We got to stand around & smell his cigarette smoke while he fixed his tire before getting us the boat & equip, complete sign in, & fill out waivers. There was a lady with him who could have been doing all that but she stayed in the truck. When She did get out after the tire was fixed, she appeared very uninterested & quite angry or upset. We were still required to bring in our boats at 9 so we only got 1 1/2 hours, not the 2 we paid for. Very difficult to see anything in the “clear“ bottom & we saw more from looking over the side. Anyway, we were very uncomfortable & felt like we were a burden to these people. Likely the worst $125, plus tip, I’ve spent in Maui. If there was a way to get our money back as we were standing on the side of the road, we would have done that. Maybe it was just an off day for them but I would think you’d assist customers 1st & fix the tire while you waited for us to be done kyayk’n
