Gap of Dunloe & Lakes of Killlarney Boat Tour

1. Gap of Dunloe & Lakes of Killlarney Boat Tour

The tour begins with a coach journey to Kate Kearney's Cottage. On arrival, you can arrange to take a jaunting cart ride through the six mile pass. This traditional Irish horse and cart ride will incur an additional cost which can be paid on the day. Alternatively, you can hike the six mile pass and enjoy the beautiful scenery at your own pace. Once through the gap, boats will be waiting on the Gearhameen River for the homeward journey via the enchanting upper, middle and lower lakes. On-board the boat, enjoy beautiful views of the national park and discover the famous Old Weir Bridge. Travel to the historic Ross Castle where coaches will be waiting to take you back to Killarney. Ross Castle is a 30 to 40 minute walk from the town center so there is an option of staying at Ross Castle after the boat trip and making your own way back to Killarney.

What people are saying about Killarney

The boat trip was simply unreal, Donal and his two dogs brought us from the upper lake through to Ross Castle. Fifth generation boatman with a wealth of knowledge which was lovingly passed on. Words cannot describe. Kerry woman taking this trip. Holidaying with my son who has settled in London and so proud to show him this jewel in the kingdom. Thank you Donal. Brilliant memories for us

The Gap of Dunloe toyr was amazing! Our tour director, Laura, made sure we were in the right place at the right time and that we had what we needed. The tour guides for pony & cart and the boat ride were both very nice, informative and had great sense of humor. Despite a bit of rain, we were extremely happy!! Thank you all so much!!

Fantastic experience, Shane was exceptional on his knowledge of the area and he made it a very fun and enjoyable experience for us. The Lake and River Tour was equally as brilliant. You can tell all the guides have a real passion for what they do. I would highly recommend this tour. A++

We highly recommend this activity. It is not strenuous but you may be required to walk for a few minutes during part of the uphill portions during the jaunting cart ride. It was a fun day and our cart driver and boat driver were quite persons and witty.

Even in the rain the views are magnificent. Ben and Lucy were expert guides, felt like a fairy tale experience. The rugged emotional backdrop of dramatic uniquely Irish scenery is thrilling. Highly recommend!
