1. From Rotterdam: UNESCO Kinderdijk, Euromast & Spido Day Trip
Upon departure from the meeting point, relax on the air-conditioned bus and enjoy views of the Dutch landscape during the 30-minute trip to Kinderdijk. Take your time in visiting Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997. See the unique polder area of dikes, mills, and pumping stations and learn about human inventiveness in reclaiming and protecting the land. Follow your guide to the visitors’ center, situated in an old pumping station. You may be lucky enough to visit the inside of a working windmill (depending on how busy it is). On the return to Rotterdam, enjoy a Spido Harbor Cruise. Sail through Europe’s largest functioning port on a 75-minute tour. Admire as Rotterdam’s impressive skyline glides by, and see the busy shipyards and traffic of the sea-going and inland ships. The cruise ends with a view of the steamship Rotterdam, the former cruise flagship of the Holland America Line. Lastly, use the included tickets to head up the Euromast. This Rotterdam icon is 185 meters high and the highest watchtower in the Netherlands. Hear stories of the city as your ascend to the top in a glass elevator. Take in the views of Rotterdam and beyond. With good weather, you can see as far as 30km away.
