From Paphos: Cyprus Through the Ages Tour w/ Lunch and Wine

1. From Paphos: Cyprus Through the Ages Tour w/ Lunch and Wine

Rural Cyprus is at your fingertips on this whistle-stop tour. Explore geological formations, archaeological sites, and characteristic villages like Fini and Omodos. Get a taste of local flavors during a tavern lunch and head to a winery for a tasting. The morning kicks off with the first stop at Petra tou Romiou for photographs (available only for those coming from Paphos town and Aphrodite Hills Resort). Aphrodite’s mythical birthplace is a geological formation of huge rocks along one of the coastlines on the island. Continue to Kourion, one of the most impressive archaeological sites on the island. It’s classic Greco-Roman, with a half-moon of seats facing out to sea. Kolossi Castle is the next stop. This Crusader-era castle is surrounded by flowering plants and a pretty courtyard. Hop back on the bus and head to Fini where lunch will be served at a local tavern. Later, stop at the mountain-ringed village of Omodos where you will have a guided walk through the village. To round off your trip, you'll have the opportunity to taste traditional Cyprus wine in a local winery before heading back to the resorts.

From Nicosia: Limassol, Kolossi & Kourion Full-Day Tour

2. From Nicosia: Limassol, Kolossi & Kourion Full-Day Tour

Being the island’s maritime capital, Limassol possesses the main commercial and business port as well as an exclusive, recently built, modern marina. This vibrant and lively city has something for every taste; significant archaeological treasures, interesting shopping spots and countless dining options. On the way to Kourion, Kolossi castle is a fine example of military architecture dating back to the 13th century. Kourion was one of the island’s most important city-kingdoms in antiquity. Significant remains that can be viewed at the site are the magnificent Greco-Roman theatre and the fine mosaic floors in the ‘House of Eustolios’, the ‘House of Achilles’ and the ‘House of the Gladiators’, as well as the remains of the Roman Agora, the sumptuous public baths and the imposing early Christian cathedral of the city.

Our tour guide and driver were lovely. The winery was first class and the owner himself made us all very welcome. His wine and nibbles were delicious. This was followed by an awesome Cypriot meal in a mountain village. Would have been handy for a pick up at Akrotiri as we had a 45 minute drive to start the trip. Kolossi castle, (the first stop) was only 15 mins away. The driver was accommodating on the way home and dropped us off. However, Well worth the money for a wonderful taste of Cyprus. Would definitely use this company again next time I come to visit my daughter.
