Full description
Around 60 km to the west of Krakow is the small town of Oswiecim, where in 1940 a set of German concentration camps was established. Auschwitz-Birkenau was the largest German concentration camp, where more than 1.5 million prisoners were tortured and murdered during the Second World War. Itinerary: 1. At the meeting point in Krakow (please check that you have taken your identity document). 2. Transfer to Oświęcim, security control and entrance to the Museum. 3. Guided tours of the Auschwitz I camp - the oldest part of the camp complex, the largest center of gradual extermination by creating inhuman living conditions and the destruction of prisoners. During the trip, among others: *You will pass through the ominous maine gate of the camp with the inscription Arbeit macht frei - through which the prisoners passed. *You will see the former camp barracks, and today the sites of thematic exhibitions devoted to the history of the camp, illustrations of the prisoners' lives, storing a collection of personal belongings that were left behind (pots, prostheses, shaving brushes, hair ...), photos of some prisoners *You will see the wall where the inmates were shot, barbed wire fencing, watch towers, gallows, gas chambers and crematoria - all that still testifies to the conditions under which the Nazi genocide took place. 4. A short break and drive to Birkenau. 5. The Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp, located about 3 km from the Auschwitz I camp, covers an enormous area of 140 hectares. About 300 different buildings were built in this area - barracks, latrines, guard houses, gas chambers. Here you will see the conditions in which the prisoners lived, the ruins of huge crematoria ... 6. Return to Krakow.

  • Remember to bring your identity document or passport (without it, you will not be able to enter the museum). All customers are obliged to take their ID document with them on the day of the tour (if there is no such document, the staff of the facility have the right to refuse entry to the museum). The name and surname on the reservation must be identical as in ID document. The Organizer does not take any responsibility if any of our customers will be refused to enter Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau due to lack of documents.
