Full description

Visit Auschwitz on a day trip from Krakow. Learn about the history of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps during a guided tour with a certified historian and guide. Auschwitz-Birkenau was founded in 1940 by Nazi Germany and was the largest concentration camp operated by the Nazis. It became the final resting place for millions of people, mostly Jews and Poles, who were murdered in gas chambers. Pass through the gate with the inscription "Arbeit macht frei" to enter Auschwitz I, where your guide will show you around the preserved area and explain the history of the site.

Then, visit the second camp at Birkenau, where mass killings took place as part of the Nazi "Final Solution to the Jewish Question."

Really enjoy this trip. Very hard to find pick up point with the link given as when following Google map had said we had arrived and this was outside Santander bank 2 minutes walk from actual pick up, we were looking for kiss and ride shop also which we could not find. We were helped by a lovely local gentleman. Tour guide was very informative and professional and friendly.

Organisation was on point and our organiser Gregor was great. The tour itself is great and an experience to do if you are interested in the war. However we felt the guide we had showing us around wasn’t the best. Lovely and knew her stuff but it all felt extremely rushed and as if she was reading a script, no personality or tailor to the group and was given no time to look around other than what we got told. The headphones were a great idea so the guide didn’t shout and you could hear, however we went on an extremely windy day so could hear the wind more than the guide sometimes.

Really great trip. Booked in uk a few weeks before and was sent details of where to meet. This changed a few days before ( one hour later) but was kept well informed. The actual trip to auschwitz was very good, a very good guide for the tour and a very rep on the bus. Overall, great value. About half the price of an organised trip. Highly recommended!
