    Uncover the history of World War 2 in Krakow, and the life and actions of Oskar Schindler. You will also learn about the film Schindler's List which was set and filmed in the city.

    Oskar Schindler was a German entrepreneur who saved the lives of 1200 Jews during World War 2. Schindler was portrayed as the main character in Thomas Keneally's novel Schindler's Ark, adapted into the film Schindler's List, directed by Steven Spielberg.

    The tour begins in the Old City and passes through the former Jewish quarters of Kazimierz to the Podgorze district of Krakow, where the Jewish ghetto was once located. Learn about the history and experience of the city in World War 2 as you see these historic sights.

    The tour will also visit the grounds of the former concentration camp at Plaszow. The area which held the camp now consists of sparsely wooded hills and fields with a large memorial to the victims. The tour will also visit the replica camp built for the filming of Schindler's List in Liban Quarry.
