Full description
Your Zakopane tour begins with a breathtaking panorama of the Tatra Mountains, viewed from the top of Gubalowka Hill, and a cable car will take you there. The charming city of Zakopane is located at the foot of the Tatra Mountains. It is visited all year long by many Polish and international tourists. Founded in the 16th century on seasonal shepherd settlements, it has evolved into an impressive city through the years. Throughout your route to Zakopane, you will stop off to Chochołów, which is a wooden village. People still live there in the original wooden houses built by the Polish highlanders, which are under the protection of UNESCO. You will also get the chance to go inside one of them to experience how people used to live. Following this you will visit a Bacowka (a traditional shepherd’s hut), where you will have the chance to try the famous regional cheese Oscypek, and will also see how it is prepared. T Next you will explore the local old-school bazaar and Krupowki Street, filled with restaurants, local stores and regional goods, as well as gift shops. Following lunch you will head back to Krakow, passing the famous ski jump and entering a quaint wooden church on the outskirts of Zakopane.

Great trip out to experience something different to the city of Krakow on our break in Poland. Going at the start of April we missed the majority of the snow but the area was still beautiful, with snow capped peaks and a chill in the air. We ended up with a private tour due to the time we wanted to visit, and fewer other tourists in town, and it was fantastic. Kamil, our guide, was chatty throughout the drive and shared lots of stories and information along the way. Fully recommend the chilled cheese tasting with wodka - make sure you take cash if you want to purchase any from the Shepherds hut to take away with you as it is very remote. We had 3 or so hours to explore the village/town in Zakopane when we arrived which was ample but relaxed. Sadly the cable car was closed for maintenance at the end of the winter season, however, Kamil drove us up to the viewing point so we could still experience the views of the whole region. Stunning!

Picked up from hotel, had the tour was as amazing haven’t experienced a day like it. Your tour guide Thomas was really friendly and was very knowledgeable! Was happy to answer questions and helped make the day even more enjoyable! The cheese tasting- i was a bit nervous for as i’m not a massive cheese fan but it was incredible, how it was prepared and the location Also a cheeky couple of shots from vodka made at the location gave a little heat to the cold day! I recommend this sort of tour if you don’t like being caught in the group tour vibe as the tour guides give you the freedom to explore yourself! Also to note the car was clean and well kept - driving was also very smooth and enjoyable

Super nice place in Zakopane, however, the cable car was under repair, so we unfortunately did not get this experience, which we had been looking forward to.
