Full description
Step back in time as you walk through Krakow’s Old Town. Not only will you experience the charm of its medieval architecture, but your professional and knowledgeable city guide will teach you about Poland’s history, unique symbols and traditions, and fun facts as well along the way. The highlight of the Old Town is the Royal Route. It begins in the northern part of the Old Town at St. Florian's Church, which contains the relics of the Patron Saint of Poland, St. Florian. The historic path continues on 3 streets, Floriańska, Grodzka, and Kanonicza. You will also walk through St. Florian's Gate, an impressive Gothic tower as well as the only remaining of the 8 medieval city gates. Next, you will visit the Main Market Square. This is the largest medieval square in Europe and home to many historic buildings. The central feature of the Square is the Sukiennice, a Renaissance Cloth Hall with fabulous arcades designed by Italian architect J.M. Padovano. The Royal Route comes to an end at the foot of the Wawel Hill, from which you can look up and admire the Wawel Royal Castle. Explore this impressive old residence of Polish monarchs and adventure into the Dragon’s Den below. The gorgeous Royal Private Apartments and Crown Treasury are a must see, as is the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Stanisław and Vaclav. The Old Town of Krakow Walking Tour will also include a visit to the Jagiellonian University district, home to the oldest university in Poland, and the beautiful Planty Park. You will have a 1/2 hour coffee break during the tour.

We did this tour on our first day and it was very good, the guide was very knowledgable and it was a full 3 hour tour, stopping at several places along the route! Although we visited tens of interesting places, the pace was somewhat fast and personally would have benefitted more from visiting less and spending more time to absorb and enjoy each place.

The guide knew so much history of Krakow and his explanations were so interesting and enjoyable. He made the whole experience so much fun and informative. He also made adaptations because we had gone to the castle in the morning before he tour so we appreciated that so much.

This was an excellent experience :). My friend and I took this tour on our first day in Kraków and it was a great decision, because it affirmed to us the places already wanted to go and introduced us to new attractions the we were doubtful of. Seweryn (the guide in the blue cap) was very knowledgable and executed the tour brilliantly. His sense of hum-our was also very apprecited. Cheers and thank you for wonderful exprience. (P.s. Unfortunately we still got lost on our own; so bro, tell us where we are.)
