Unbelievable experience at Auschwitz and birkenau. One of those places that needs to be seen to completely understand the scale of the atrocity that took place. I asked the guide what the sandstones with H inscribed where on the ground.. the reply was in the 12yrs he’s been a doing it.. he’s never noticed them. Still don’t know what they are

Good trips BUT you need to be fit there is a lot of walking we covered over 17,000 'steps' during these trips. The salt mines also there are a lot of steps (stairs) they tell you 300+ but when we actually started the tour the salt mine guide told us there were in fact over 800. There is a lft to get you back up to the top at the end of the tour- however there is an additional 15-25 minutes walking to get to it once the tour is over and long waits for the lifts depending on how busy it is . Many parts of the mine also have low ceilings so if you are tall watch your head!

We had only one day in Kraków and this was the best way to spend it. The time spent in each place is reasonable and there is enough time to eat and enough breaks in the middle. The guide in the two concentration and death camps of Auschwitz-Birkenau was excellent and the tour very well planned. The tour of the salt mine was refreshing (after the sad morning) and we enjoyed the guide and the very detailed explanations. The transportation was good, quick and safe.
