Full description

Discover Ephesus, The House of Virgin Mary, and Artemission Temple on a guided tour.

Your guide will have your name sign at the Kusadasi Cruise terminal exit just after you pass customs. Hotel guests (with the private option only) will be picked up from their hotel lobby.

After meeting your guide, drive to the House of the Virgin Mary, located in the Aladag Mountains, 5 miles away from Ephesus. Visit Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of the Ionian League, an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor, located near Izmir. As a port city, it was a major departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor.

Walk through its historic marble streets lined with historic public buildings like the Baths of Scholastica, the Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian, and the Grand Theater. Stop at Artemission Temple, which used to be one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, as your last stop before driving back to Kusadasi town center.

Amazing value. Taylan was simply the best. He was waiting for us at least 30 minutes BEFORE our scheduled arrival, so we were able to start our tour early. We had a very nice private coach bus for just 4 people. Taylan literally turned around in his seat and faced us and shared his expertise the whole ride. He is extremely knowledgeable and had nearly perfect English. Very kind and good with our teenage daughters. He grew up in the area and seemed to be friends with all the locals (who were all very friendly). Very accommodating of lots of requests for extra time, photos, etc. Ephesus was awesome. Not as much to see at Virgin Mary’s house and Temple of Artemis, but both were still worth seeing. Just leave plenty of time for Ephesus. Carpet cooperative was also very interesting. We ended up buying 2 rugs. Maybe we were suckers, but it seemed like an honest establishment and was recommended by Taylan… we will post again in 10-12 weeks when the rugs ship and let you know! Highly recommend

This ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. We were very lucky in that we were off our cruise ship about 40 minutes earlier than expected. Our guide was also early. This allowed us to be a step ahead of the bigger tours. Also, we ended up being the only group, so essentially we had a private tour guide and bus. It was a wonderful experience as we got yo dictate what we did when.
