Full description

Board the ferry at La Spezia and start your boat trip to Porto Venere. Cruise for approximately 30-minutes before reaching Porto Venere. Disembark the ferry for a walk through the town. Porto Venere is a fortified seaside village filled with colorful houses and medieval buildings. During your tour, you will pass the Church of San Pietro, one of the most religious buildings in all of Italy, before walking through narrow streets. Pass the Church of San Lorenzo and enjoy panoramic views at Doria's fortress. Before returning to the ferry, you’ll have some free time to explore Porto Venere on your own. Board the ferry and continue on your tour along the Cinque Terre coastline. Relax onboard for approximately 50 minutes as you pass by the seaside villages of Riomaggiore, Manarola, and Corniglia. Next stop is Monterosso. Here you will reach the medieval center in a few steps, where you can admire the parish church dedicated to San John the Baptist. Then, admire the landscapes from Torre Aurora and the large beach by Fegina. Arrive at Vernazza, where you will disembark to explore the unique village. Walk around Vernazza, a small village with an imposing fortification system. Here you will see the Church Santa Margherita d'Antiochia and walk down the main street filled with colorful houses. Walk to a viewing point in the village and see views of Doria's fortress.

Our guide spoke 3 languages either English French Italian and took the time in the 3 languages to give the information and explanations and when she finished with a group she gave the meeting point and arranged them so that they began to make their visits freely really appreciate she was fast.

The Cinque Terre excursion by boat is a really nice and special experience, seeing the coast from the sea has a completely different effect! The boat was very clean and the guides very prepared and competent, unfortunately the guided tour takes very little time and there would be a lot of interesting information about the area to listen to. Surely the ideal time to do this tour is not the high season, as there are so many people in the various locations and it becomes really difficult to find a place to eat in the short time available. During the trip on the boat the guides tell a little about the territory and offer explanations about it, while on land we had some very interesting notions about Porto Venere and Vernazza but honestly we would have preferred to listen to the guides for more time. Given the limited time available, it would certainly be nice to offer an audio guide to listen to during walks.

During the trip the re-boarding times were hardly observed. The worst was in Vernazza where we had to wait for reboarding the boat for a half of an hour in a rainy, windy and colder wheather. Also the announced time for spending in Vernazza was cut short with about 40 minutes (most of which we were required to wait for reboarding the boat). Otherwise, the trip was nice and mostly confortable. The guide was informative and nice.
