Full description
Your 4-hour journey takes you on a voyage of exploration through the mangroves of Langkawi, to discover exotic plants and animal species. Many of them survive by ingenious methods in a dynamic environment of constant change, dictated by the rise and fall of the tides. Following a short drive to the jetty, get on board a boat and explore the mangrove forests and ancient limestone outcrops of the northeast of the island. Mangrove forests play an essential part in maintaining the ecological balance of the world. They influence the climate, provide shelter, and act as major nurseries for fish and shrimps. As you drift through the mangroves, look out for the bizarre land walking fishes. Watch out too for bright flashing kingfishers, and look up to see eagles and kites. If you are very lucky, you might see curious otters and playful dolphins. And don’t forget the little critters, however creepy and crawly they might seem. They are all playing a vital role in this unique environment. The optional lunch is a fixed menu comprising of chicken fried rice and iced drink of the day. The tour includes a 30-minute beach stop, dependent on sea and weather conditions. The total length of the tour is 6 hours, including the 2-hour round-trip transfer from your hotel.

Great guide and beautiful area with lots to see. Great value for everything we got to do and see. And excellent lunch included. Loved the caves, eagles and time on one of the most beautiful beaches in Langkawi. Guide super knowledgeable with great information.

Lovely tour with caves and a speedboat. You can see great flora and fauna including bats, lizards, fishes, monkeys and we even saw a snake! Although I didn’t book the kayaking option I was still able to participate since I was attending the tour on my own, which was absolutely amazing! Our tour guide was not only funny but also very knowledgable and eager to show us all the different species and tell us about them. The included lunch is good too, however with the vegetarian option the mean is only removed which leaves you with rice and a few veggies. I would recommend this tour to everyone who doesn’t want a full day activity but still see a lot from the island and it’s beautiful nature!

I really enjoyed the mangrove forest boat tour with Pedro (is that how you spell it?). They pick you up at your accommodation and drive you to Tanjung Rhu beach which was a plus because I had wanted to come here anyways so it was great that I got to see a bit of it in this tour. The boats leave from Tanjung Rhu beach for a fish farm which was interesting and then to the mangroves. Afterwards we visited a bat cave, had lunch at a floating restaurant, then they drove us back to our separate accommodations. Along the way we were luckily able to spot some eagles, snakes, monkeys, and lizards. What I really liked about this tour is that Pedro is very knowledgeable and was able to explain what we were seeing instead of simply transporting us from place to place. Just one note of caution: the tour was advertised as going from 9-1 but I wasn’t dropped off at my accommodation until about 3:30/4pm because of delays caused by a storm happening that day and transportation time
