Capri Island Day Trip from Rome

1. Capri Island Day Trip from Rome

Explore the jewel of southern Italy, Capri Island, on a classic journey from Rome. Discover the famous alleys, the Piazzetta, and the countless charms that have made Capri a favorite destination with your tour leader. Begin your journey at the meeting point in Rome and travel south on “the highway of the sun” by bus. Pass by the famous Roman countryside, Castelli Romani, as you make your way to Naples. Once there, admire incredible views of the Mediterranean, Mount Vesuvius, and countless historic sites. Next, set sail on a ferry for about 1 hour until you reach Capri. Make the most of the opportunity to visit the famous Blue Grotto cave, with its charming colored undertone. For your trip, choose between an English, French, Spanish, or German-speaking guide. After your afternoon of exploration, take the boat back to Naples where your coach will be waiting to take you back to Rome.

Rome: Hot-Air Balloon Flight over the Tiber Valley

2. Rome: Hot-Air Balloon Flight over the Tiber Valley

Travel just 37 miles (60 km) outside of Rome to the small town of Magliano Sabina located on the Via Tiberina. Meet your pilot to transfer to the nearby launch site for a pre-flight briefing. If you choose, you can assist with the balloon inflation. Once the balloon is inflated, the pilot will welcome you onboard the 'lighter than air' flight. As you ascend into the air, enjoy 360-degree panoramic views and get bird's eye photo opportunities of the spectacular scenery. The maximum height you will ascend to is 1,500 feet (500 meters) where the temperature is almost the same as on the ground. The ground crew will be tracking your flight as you go and will be waiting with the Jeep transfer to take you back to Magliano Sabina after your landing. When you land, after a 40-60-minute flight, toast your adventure with local DOC wines, salami, and cheese. Your pilot will sign your First Flight Certificate as a souvenir of your day.

What people are saying about Lazio

Commuting is a bit confusing and rushed, but the island is beautiful. The time on the island seems short, but it is enough to see the main attractions. If you're just going to spend the day, I recommend not taking the time to go up to Anacapri, there's nothing there but restaurants and shops. It's a little tiring for the travel time, but it's worth it for those who have just one day to get to know Capri.

Beautiful experience at dawn on a Sunday morning. As soon as the hot air balloon broke away from the ground, it seemed to live in an almost surreal reality, time stopped and everything became magic ... Wonderful landscapes and enchanted atmosphere. All the fears that had made me hesitant for days also dissolved. Great credit also goes to Ivan and Elisa, truly exquisite people. Straconsiglio.

Train from Rome in 1 hour and 15 min to Naples. Boat trip was great, you get 3 hours of free time recording Capri and then on the boat a round of the island with 2x swimming opportunities and photo moments of the caves and other sights. Food was well taken care of with a sandwich for lunch on Capri, fresh fruit salad, chips, cookies and plenty to drink. Have a nice day!
