Continue the trip heading to possibly the most famous fishing town in Portugal, Nazaré, where you will visit the Forte de Sao Miguel. This site has become world-famous for the giant wave that hits its coast every winter and attracts lots of surfers from all over the world. Then, walk through O Sitio, where the famous streets present a collection of religious buildings and are a hugely popular site for pilgrims from all around the globe. Hike your way up to the summit, where you'll find medieval fortifications, 17th-century churches, and modern shrines. Wander the courtyards and plazas surrounded by ornate structures, basilicas, and statues. Next, head to Oporto, the last stop of the day. First you will have 1h to have a typical Portuguese lunch on your own to regain energy, and then, the visit will start. A vibrant 1.5-hour walking tour, where you will admire the stunning Old Town on the picturesque Douro River, complete with six bridges, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Igreja Carmen, Estação São Bento, Igreja São Francisco and Ponte Don Luis. While heading north (1:30hrs trip), prepare to be dazzled by a masterpiece of Cistercian Gothic art, the 12th-century Monastery of Alcobaça, founded by the first Portuguese king, Afonso Henriques. For its size, purity of architectural style, quality of materials, and the care with which it was built, it was listed as a World Heritage Site in 1989. You will then proceed to Batalha, a 14th-century monastery built as a fulfillment of a promise made by King John I in gratitude for the victory in a battle against Castille. This secured the throne and guaranteed the independence of Portugal. You will witness a national Gothic-style building influenced by Manueline art. Following that, you will have an hour free time for lunch at Batalha town. Finally, at the Convent of Christ at Tomar, you will discover the centuries-old link between the Knights Templar and the Kingdom of Portugal. With your guide, visit the original round church (Charola), built at the end of the 12th century by the first great Master of the Templars. Famous due to the sighting of the Virgin Mary by 3 childrens in 1916, follow the route to the place were the apparition appeared in Valinhos. Visit the historic houses at Aljustrel, before roaming to Fátima Sanctuary, Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fátima and the chapel of Apparitions. We start our day by visitting the Little Sheppard's Houses and the place where the Angel appeared for the second time. House of the Three Shepherds - It was in the small village of Aljustrel, located about 2 kms from the Fatima sanctuary, that the three seers of Fatima were born - Lucia and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta who shared her herding duties. Very similar in design and simplicity, the single-storey houses that the little shepherds lived in can be visited. The house where the brothers Jacinta and Francisco lived was built in 1888 and is about 200 meters from the house of their cousin Lucia, dating from 1885. Valinhos - We will walk in this amazingly peaceful and sacred place, where the Virgin appeared and Loca do Anjo, the place that marks the Angel's apparition for the 1st and 3rd time. We will also walk up to the Hungarian Calvary while going through some of the Cross Station's. By this time we are sure everyone will be hungry, so we will recommend some local restaurants for you to enjoy some traditional food. After lunch, we'll proceed to Fatima Sanctuary.
