Full description

Experience a full-day boating excursion and discover three of the most charming villages in Liguria: Camogli, San Fruttuoso, and Portofino. Enjoy options of visiting all three, or selecting which ones you'd like to discover. Depart from Genova in the morning aboard the motorboat Città di Camogli and enjoy panoramic coastal views on your way to the harbor of Camogli. If you choose to visit San Fruttuoso, you will find a charming fishing village located on the promontory of Portofino and the Abbey of San Fruttuoso. After leaving the dock from Camogli, catch sight of beautiful views of the tiny village. Next, you'll be able to admire the majesty of Portofino mountain, the pudding-stone landmark outcrop of Punta Chiappa.

Then, pass the exclusive hamlet of San Fruttuoso, followed by the famous Hermit's Grotto and the Cala dell'Oro. Next, in Portofino, you will find the awe-inspiring blue sea, the lush green vegetation at the edge of the cliffs, and the elegance of villas along the coast.

Finally, keep an eye out for bottle-nose dolphins on the boat trip back to Genova.

I recommend the boat trip to anyone who comes to Genoa. The most time can be spent in Camoglio, because it is a larger town that also has a fantastic beach. In turn, in San Frutuoso, I recommend eating seafood soup and you can also swim in the turquoise color of the sea. We have the least time to spend in Portofino, so let's set ourselves up for a little walk around the beautiful picturesque surroundings

our boat captain/driver/guide was quiet, low key, but the day was, also.. it was grey and cloudy. it was a nice cruise.. nothing spectacular though. it was a good way to get a view of the area, the shores, the architecture. The lake was like glass, so very smooth rides. Taking a blanket and a light weight jacket helped tremendously for the ride back to the shore, which was quite chilly!

And I really enjoyed the trip, but it was exhausting. Camogli is a pretty town with a pedestrian zone. We sat in the shade at the port for a long time and enjoyed the atmosphere. We were in Camogli by the 1 p.m. ship and also had lunch there. That was a very good decision because San Fruttuoso was tiny and therefore very crowded. We rented 5 chairs in the shade under the monastery for 30 euros, otherwise we couldn't have endured the heat. And we actually only went swimming there. At 3:30pm we continued to Portofino where we walked around for a little over an hour admiring the views. Since there were only posh shops there, we only bought a postcard. Conclusion: definitely pack your swimwear and enjoy the boat trip along the coast. And don't forget drinks and snacks!
